NBE (hopefully for January '07)

This event will be a chaos-magic event. Decks must be Legacy-legal (or possibly Vintage... though I think this will be ruled out). Here's the low-down, straight from a recent email:

"Our next big event will be a tournament where each round consists of a few
chaos games. Points in these games will be earned in the usual way of
surviving opponents, as well as by being the player to kill opponents.
This second part should encourage players to actually kill each other, and
will keep the speed of the games somewhat high.

"The twist is the following: you don't have to use the same deck in each
round. In fact, each player may bring as many decks as they desire, and
can switch decks as they se fit between rounds.

"Points earned are cumulative. The player with the most points at the end
of all the rounds wins!"

I have gotten some questions about the format. I post the answers here:

You: Is the format Chaos as in Chaos-Rob-Chaos-God?

Me: No.

You: When is the tourney?

Me: Hopefully in January.

You: What are restrictions on deck construction?

Me: It will either be Vintage or Legacy. Please feel free to discuss! I'd love to make it Vintage, but I'm afraid of it being too broken:(

You: What happens if a player wins due to some card's effect?

Me: Then everyone who was alive just before that card's effect is considered to die "to that card". Points are allocated appropriately.

You: Can we make it Highlander?

Me: I'd actually like to have as few deck restrictions as possible. So... let's say no, even if it would normally make things more chaotic.

I'll answer additional questions in further comments.

Big Event Ideas

Post here about Big Event Ideas. I'm often less democratic about this then other things... but it's good to see what everyone wants!:)

Timeshifted Redrafting

Okay,

The topic here is (if I understand it correctly) whether or not people can redraft only as many timeshifted cards as the number of time spiral packs they opened before the draft.

I got an email from Dan,and I figured it would be best to post it somewhere and let people respond rather than try to forward all the emails I would get.

I've gotten a lot of emails against this measure, but I'm not sure whether people were trying to convince me or everyone else. If you want to post, go right ahead, but if you'd rather I find your old email and post it (if I have it) then that's cool too.

Hello Monkey Brigade!

We can have discussions here, afaiu. If this sucks and someone has a better idea, we'll set it up:-P

Bonus!
